Back to School: Starting off The New Year Organized!

School is almost here! I cannot believe it!! This is a great time to get organized. I love starting off a new school year knowing that I’m organized. Here are a few tips on how to be prepared for a new school year!

      Clean Out Your Room
I think cleaning out your room is one of the best ways to start off a brand new school year. I love waking up to a clean room and so will you on your first day of school! I like to start off by organizing my closet. Organizing your closet is great because you have an idea of what you have in your closet. I like to separate mine into categories. I keep my fancier shirts, t-shirts, shorts, pants, etc. into little clusters so I know where everything is!

Routine, Routine, Routine
The last few weeks before school starts is the best time to start getting into a routine. I like to try to get to bed early and wake up by at least 9. If you can’t get to sleep early, turn off any electronics and read a book. Reading a book always makes me sleepy!

School Supplies
This has to be my favorite part of going back to school! I love getting cute & decorative school supplies! Try doing this a week before school starts.

 Plan out Outfits
It’s always good to plan out some outfits before school starts. I love to get a bunch of outfits together and take pictures of them on my iPad so I can just go through and pick out an outfit! It is a great thing to do if it takes you a while to pick out an outfit!

 Figure Out Makeup
A summer’s tan is the best! But when your foundation or concealer doesn’t match your skin tone, it isn’t the best. Finding out your foundation/concealer shade a week before school starts (or after your tan) is the right way to go. You don’t want to go to school with your concealer or foundation to light!

There you have it! I think these are great ways to start of the school year! Comment below if you have anything you like to do before school starts!

Back to School with Ali

Im Back!! August is here and it is back to school time! I’m excited because it's a brand new year but i'm upset because summer is over!! Summer went by soooo fast!! Am I the only one who thinks that?

What makes me excited to get back to school.. did I just say excited?? Anyways, what makes me excited about back to school time is that I love finding school supplies that is cute and preppy at the same time. So, I gathered up some of my favorite brands and supplies that I love to use from year to year as well as some cute supplies I found online!

***This blog post is NOT sponsored by any of these brands!***

PaperMate Clearpoint 1ct 0.9MM Mechanical Pencil
I LOVE these pencils! These mechanical pencils are worth every penny. But, you have to be careful because I seriously always lose these! I’ll have them one day and they will just be gone the next! Haha! But, you might want to buy some extra erasers because the erasers on these pencils go out very quickly! Other than that, it’s the best mechanical pencil I have ever used. If you don’t want to just buy 1, they come in packs of 2 and I think 3 as well!

Next, we have the “Le Pen.” Personally, I haven’t ever used these, but I’ve heard so much great feedback about how smooth they write! I found these on a website called, “Papayrus.” For the pack of these 4 colors, it cost $7.95! This isn’t too bad saying that some pens cost $10 just for 1 pen. I looked these up to see if you can get them at any stores instead of online, and I found that you can get them at Walmart in bigger packs, but I didn’t see them in these specific colors. So, I listed where you can get them down below!

1" Mini Binder - Gold Metallic Icons // Greenroom, available at Target

I found these ADORABLE binders on the target website from the brand “Greenroom.” I LOVE these!! They remind me of summer and the gold foil gives it a preppy look! Personally, my favorite is the flamingos. Since they don’t sell them online, you will probably have to go to your local Target to get them if they are in stock. They are $3.99 each. I think that is a great price for how gorgeous they are! But, I don’t know how durable these binders really are. These also come in notebooks, but you would have to see if they are sold in your local Target.

Paper Mate Flair Porous Point Stick Pen, Assorted Ink, Medium, 12pk

I had these pens in middle school and I still have them now as a sophomore in high school! They are thin and they write so great! My Lilly Agenda is very organized and I love using these pens to write down my to do lists and assignments! The colors are great and I think they come in a lot of different colors than just this pack! You can get these anywhere such as Office Depot, Walmart, or Target. I found these on the Walmart website for $10.84!

Black And Gold Personalized BinderWhite And Gold Personalized BinderPink And Gold Personalized Binder

I found these customizable binders from Zazzle that you can buy for $18.95 each. Your name is put on the front and on the side of the binder is the subject. These have many great reviews! It would probably be best to use these for organizing papers and such since it is a bit pricey for a binder. Personally, I wouldn’t use it for a class because I wouldn’t want it to get bent or anything like that. I think these are soooo adorable and perfect for the school year. They also have a lot more binders to choose from that are customizable!

We can’t forget about folders! This is a pack of 2 folders for $6.95! The brushstroke design is beautiful and all the colors are so pretty! I love how it comes with 2 folders and not just 1! These folders are from the “Paper Source.” This set is sold online and their website has so much more to offer with cute school supplies.

I wouldn’t consider this as a school supply, but a necessity! Personally I don’t bring coffee to school every day, but the days that I do, this is perfect for it! I’ve seen this all over Pinterest and I finally found it on this store called, “Urban Girl.” Urban Girl has a lot of super cute school supplies as well as office supplies. This coffee thermal mug is $13 and it is 16 oz! You can only get it online.

This adorable agenda last from August 2015-December 2016. If you love Lilly Agenda’s but don’t want to spend so much money on them, I would go with this! It is only $20!! This is probably one of the cutest agenda’s (beside Lilly of course!) I’ve seen! How many times have I said cute? Haha! I love the color on the front of the agenda and all of the cute designs inside of this agenda!

Can I just say, I am in LOVE with this journal/notebook!! The design on the front is gorgeous and I love the gold as well! This journal is from “Anna Griffin” and is $12! This would be great for school, but if you love to journal, this would be perfect! It has 80 pages with a golf ribbon as a bookmark.

WOMEN'S BOREALIS BACKPACK

Last, we have North Face backpacks! I have a pink one and I love it! They are so durable and lasted me throughout the whole school year! These backpacks hold a lot of school supplies and it was comfortable on my shoulders throughout the day! To add your own personal touch, you can add your monogram on the front of the backpack! I am planning to that with mine this year! These backpacks are $89 and I found these off of “The North Face” online store. But i'm sure you can find them somewhere such as Dick’s Sporting Goods or maybe Academy.

Keep up with my blog and don’t forget to email or comment your high school questions and I may answer them in my “High School Q&A” coming soon! I will also talk about “what to expect freshmen year” and “things I wish I knew before my freshmen year.”
